Ways to give
Give a school uniform to a child in Uganda
£2 a month provides a school uniform and clothing for a child in Uganda.
What your gift does
- A school uniform
- Clothing
£2 a month provides a school uniform and clothing — one of the simplest ways to help a child at school.
Regular gifts, however small, add up: most of what R.E.A.CH raises comes from monthly donations.
Projects your gift supports
Family Support Initiative
Empowering a small number of vulnerable families in Lira, Northern Uganda so they are able to feed and educate their children and work towards sustainability.
Orphan Support Project
Supporting vulnerable children who live at St Gabriel's House on the grounds of Good Shepherd Special School in Fort Portal, under the care of Sr Theresa Abigaba.
Kosovo Education Project
School-fee sponsorship for 30 children living in the Kosovo slum in Kampala, identified by our trusted advisor Ronald and run with two partner organisations.
Questions about giving
How much does it cost to send a child to school?
Costs vary depending on the child's age — the older they get, the more expensive it becomes. As an example, £12.50 will pay for a primary school child to attend school for a month, and £20 a month provides a secondary school child with food, accommodation and education.
How can I donate to R.E.A.CH?
You can give online through PayPal (a one-off gift or a regular donation, by card or PayPal balance), by cheque made payable to "Bury African Outreach" and posted to our registered address, or by debit or credit card — contact us to set that up.
Can I add Gift Aid to my donation?
Yes. If you are a UK taxpayer, Gift Aid lets the charity claim an extra 25% from the government at no cost to you — a £100 donation becomes £125. Email us for a copy of our Gift Aid form.
Does the charity pay wages?
No. No one involved with the charity takes a wage or claims expenses. R.E.A.CH is run entirely by unpaid volunteer trustees.
Where does all the money come from?
Approximately 70% comes via monthly direct debits and the rest comes from fundraising events.
